An update of all United scores from the weekend...

RUDDINGTON VILLAGE DEVELOPMENT 0 – 5 BASFORD UNITED DEVELOPMENT

Jordan Haywood scored two as the development side ran out comfortable winners at Ruddington Village at the weekend.

Two penalties rounded off a fine weekend for the captain and that was followed up from a brace from Louis Nicholson and a strike from Charlie Fox.

The result puts Basford 3rd in the NSL Development Division (Winter) with a 100% record, three points behind table-toppers Pegasus.

AYLESTONE PARK YOUTH U18 1 – 0 BASFORD UNITED U17

Christian Smith struck in the 33rd minute as David Boafo’s young guns came away from Leicestershire empty-handed, in what was only their second defeat of the season.

They remain 9th, 7 points behind leaders Shawbury United Juniors.

BASFORD UNITED U16 4 – 1 STRATFORD TOWN U16

Marek Vipond’s U16 group progressed through to the next round of the MJPL Cup with a convincing victory over Stratford Town at Greenwich Avenue.

Man of the match Casey Johnson opened the scoring for the hosts with an emphatic finish before Oscar Husson equalised for the West Midlanders shortly after.

Marcell Forde, Ben Smith and a deft finish from the impressive Elijah Samuels sealed the win and they can now look forward to a semi-final tie against Northampton Santos Panthers or the winner of Heather Juniors Pumas and AFC Wulfrunians.

BASFORD UNITED U16 (Ravens) 4 – 1 RISE PARK U16

Aaron Barks’ Ravens side scored an impressive win over league-above Rise Park in the cup.

Despite missing key players through injury and covid, United took an early lead thanks to a 25-yarder from Perree Newbold and Leo Almond put them two up at the break.

Rise Park unsettled some nerves at the start of the second half, making it 2-1 shortly after the restart but a change in formation saw Barks team dominate.

Newbold went on to seal an excellent hat-trick and they face Moorgreen Colts of division one in the next round.

BASFORD UNITED U15 1 (8) – (9) 1 MANSFIELD TOWN

The U15s were cruelly knocked out of the cup competition on Saturday, as they fell to an 9-8 penalty defeat to Mansfield Town’s scholars.

Ben Swift scored the Ambers’ solitary goal.

SPORTS GATEWAY U14 (SUN) 1 – 5 BASFORD CFC U14 BLACK (SUN)

Our U14 Sunday side ran out 5-1 winners away at Sports Gateway on Sunday.

They’re back in action this Sunday as they host their Belper Town counterparts.

BREASTON PARK U12 (WHITE) 1 – 2 BASFORD CFC U12 (SKY)
