The under 15s consolidated at the top of Division 3 with an excellent 3-2 victory over Btitle challengers Bilborough Pelican at Lenton Lane this am. A great showing by the lads with midfield duo Steve Taylor and Tommy MacCauley registering excellent displays.United went in front via a great strike from Dennis Surmaj. Despite some great looks on goal United could not gain a comfortably two goal margin until the 2nd period and a good finish from Manu Fadeyi. Despite Pelican netting to reduce the score to 2-1 Denis Surmaj rounded off a fine performance with a 3rd. A late 2nd for the home side made for a nervous end but United held out for 3 excellent points to be in the box position at the top of the division.A fine showing from Stephen Allen who shut sown the dangerous Russell and also keeper Will Munroe who pulled off several brilliant saves to cap a fine day.
Back at Greenwich Avenue United under 12s recored there 1st victory of the spring YEL campaign with an excellent 1-0 victory at home to Riverside. Max Taylor registered the solitary goal in the 1st period to secure 3 points.
