Congratulations to the Under 16 team, who clinched the Notts Youth League Division One title at the weekend.

Selston 0 Basford United U16s 4

Going into the game knowing one point would secure back to back championships Basford had it all to play for.
They didn’t disappoint, thanks to goals from Harry Barrett, Jeremiah Ogi and Reece Gatland (2).
With still two games remaining, this very talented side are aiming to finish the season undefeated.

Beeston 3 Basford United Community 1 (Notts Senior Trophy Quarter Final)

Basford United Community bowed out of the cup in the quarter final losing 3-1 to Beeston FC.

A poor first half performance saw Beeston FC take a 2-0 lead both courtesy of Basford mistakes. In the later stages of the half Basford raised their game and had a great chance through Ben Johnson to lob the keeper on the stroke of half time and a brilliant save from the Beeston keeper kept Basford at bay.

This is a very young Basford United Community side and credit to the young lads they came out fighting second half and took the game to Beeston in the second half and the chances soon started to fall but just couldn't be converted. This was summed up when the excellent Blake Cooke's solo run found himself inside the box and crashed his effort against the bar.

Unfortunately a defensive howler killed the game off and gave a Beeston a three nil lead and effectively the tie all but over.

Basford threw young Harvi Weatherall up front to try and throw the kitchen sink at Beeston and he nearly made an immediate impact facing clear but chose to play in Alex Goodall rather than go alone. Minutes later young Harvi was in the score sheet with a back post header to give Basford a glimmer of hope.

Unfortunately Basford couldn't capitalise and the poor performance proved costly as Beeston FC booked their place in the semi final.

Despite going out of the cup today there were a number of positives with Sam Parker returning from a broken ankle sustained on the opening game of the season and young Harvi Weatherall only just 16 years old scoring his first senior goal.

This is a very young side and the average age today was 17.5 years with a number of players cup tied these boys will learn from this and no doubt will bounce back next week.

A huge thanks from team management to those that travelled to support this young side including the cup tied players and Neil McGowan. The support we have had over the last few weeks has been very much appreciated.

Babworth Rovers 0 Basford United U17s 3

Another great away league win for Basford Under 17s.

With 8 games to go they seem to be going from strength to strength. Following a great performance last week in the 3-0 victory over Attenborough Colts it was an early start to get to Babworth (Retford) to kick off at 10.30.

Basford to be fair were rarely threatened throughout the whole game and should have been ahead a lot earlier than they did. Top scorer Jise Bankole opened the scoring with a well placed header and just before half time their lead was doubled by captain Thomas Cummins with another bullet header. The side continued to dominate and the third goal was buried home by Jahiem Goodall to claim all 3 points

Basford United U15's Saturday 5 Arnold Town 1

After two great wins, 5-0 against Mansfield Town who were second in the league and then a 3-1 away win against league leaders Vernon which was hard fought but full of passing football which they had no answer for.

Under 15s entertained Arnold Town this Saturday and after dominating the opening stages and the remainder of the first half went in 2-0 up at half time with great goals from Max Wallace and Decree Okoli.
With Blessings Mwanza and Liam Sansum dominating the key central midfield areas Arnold were limited to a couple of long range efforts in this half.

The second half started as the first with domination in the midfield and defensive areas this pressure created numerous chances.

The pressure finally resulted in 3 further goals; a long range effort from Liam Sansum, Usman Mizra from close and range and a superb left footed strike from Angelo Tambini who played very well, Arnold did breach our defensive line with a consolation goal at the end of the game but this was a one sided affair and a well-deserved win.

Basford United Community U13 Trees 4 Radcliffe Olympic Inters 4

Basford goalscorers: Tyrelle(12, 18, 50), Jayden-Samuel(30). Man of the match: Tyrelle

This was a great battle!

Trees started well, playing some good football. George and the defence of Nyle, Orlando, Michael and Bright were playing some nice passes from the back.

The midfielders of Jack, Kesharn, Kacper, Marley & Faris all did their bit too giving 100%.
Tyrelle did great upfront causing our opponents trouble all game. The boys on the bench caused trouble too, credit to JD, Jephte and Jayden-Samuel for doing their bit.

Tyrelle scored twice in the space of ten minutes to give Basford a 2-0 lead, great finishing from Tyrelle. 6 goals in 3 games this year.

Credit to Radcliffe they gave it their all constantly and got two back to make it 2-2.

Just before halftime though Jayden-Samuel came off the bench, and scored easily the goal of the game when he bent a shot into the top corner to give Basford a 3-2 lead before half time.
Second half started and slowness out the blocks allowed Radcliffe to get another back. 3-3.

Trees kept going and a good passing move lead to Tyrelle getting the ball on the edge of the box and picking out the top right corner for 4-3.

In the final minute though Radcliffe managed to get an equaliser even after George made a superb save. They followed in the rebound for a deserved draw. 4-4.

Man of the match today could have been Michael for his great work at the back, credit to Tyrelle though who got a great hat trick and gave it everything all game.

“Unbeaten in 5 now! Not lost in 2019, keep it going Trees!” from Coach Alex and Deji.

Basford United U7s 6 West Bridgford 0

A great game with Basford on the front foot right from the start with Preston Elliott taking on 3 players then slotting in the bottom corner to open the scoring.

Then a quality goal by Joe from the right putting it straight in the top corner followed by two more goals giving Joe his hat trick, a great performance from him. New signing Remie slotted in well scoring two goals, well done all, keep up the hard work.
