The last time the sides met the game finished in a 1-1 draw. Nat Watson’s strike midway through the second half cancelled out James Walshaw’s first half effort as neither side could find a winner.
THE BIG PICTURE
Basford are hoping to end a run of back to back defeats. They will also be hoping to close the gap to league leaders South Shields, who play FC United of Manchester. Although a draw in that game may be the best result for Basford, if they win, given that both those clubs occupy places above Steve Chettle’s side. Basford could move above Warrington if they better the Yellows’ result and will have a game in hand over them.
Scarborough can move within two points of the play-offs with a win but would need several sides above them to drop points. They are hoping to avoid a run of three straight away defeats after losing their last two games on the road.
