With the game to be played at the ground of Evo Stik Northern Premier Rushall Olympic, initially a Sat MFL game looked out of the question given Rushall were due to host FC United of Manchester, in a Northern Premier League game on Saturday.However, as FC United are now engaged in FA Trophy action at Torquay, it has been possible to quickly rearrange the postponed game to play on Saturday at 3.0 pm, when we hope the weather will have eased.

Basford boss Martin Carruthers was pleased with the fixture, saying " Like many clubs, we have lost matches due to weather and have a few to catch up, also our success in cup matches has meant more matches to play, so fixing this game up so quickly has been a real boost."

Continental have already beaten Basford and Carruthers is wary of the threat posed by them:
" At our ground they showed great speed and skill and exposed the
limtations of our defence. We have strengthened since then but we are very much aware of what Star are capable of and know we have to be at our best to get something from the game."

Saul Deeney is again available and takes his place in a strong squad:

Of our other teams in action this weekend the Under 14s hope to play Sat am when Bingham town visit Greenwich Avenue. Despite it very early in the YEL Spring league season something will have to give tomorrow as both sides hold 100% records.

Sun marks a big day for Rich McGovern,s talented Basford United Under 13s. The team entertain local rivals AFC Vernon Colts White at Greenwich Avenue 10.30AM in the semi final of the County cup. Its a big game this one and hopefully it will attract a good attendance.
