Corby have been transformed from relegation fodder a few months ago into serious promotion challengers, an excellent run of results lifting them into second place.
Martin Carruthers said:
“Aidan Austin will be back in the squad for Saturday other than that it will be the same squad that played so well against Carlton.
“Corby have been on an incredible run and deservedly turned their season around.
“It is the biggest game in the league this weekend and another very tough test for us. They are a very good footballing side with a good mix of youth and experience and we could not have had a harder game to end the year.
“We want to finish the year unbeaten so all 16 players will need to give us a massive effort if we are to achieve a positive result.”
When we travelled to Corby in August, we ran out winners 4-1. After Jack McGovern had given the home side a first half lead, we struck back with goals from Deon Meikle, Kieran Wells, Liam Hearn and Courey Grantham. Since then, under the control of Steve Kinniburgh, the Steelman have turned their season around.
Community will seek to recover from last week’s 2-1 loss to Bingham when they travel to Sandiacre.
Michael Leslie said:
“We did well last week but just lacked the final finish and conceded some goals that could have been avoided. We need to get that sharpness back in front of goal.”
