A brace from Joe Uveges on his full senior debut and a sensational striker from Tyler Dacres saw a clinical Basford side leave Lincolnshire on Tuesday night with all three points!

It was a bright start from the Holly Blues who controlled the ball in the early minutes but were met with a strong United defence who felt with everything that came their way throughout the night.

Joe Uveges didn't have to wait long to make a big impact and in the 7th minute he fired the ball into the top left corner from with his weaker left foot from 18 yards after a brilliant bit of play down the right from Tyrell Waite. A dream start to his full senior debut for Uveges who caused Trinity problems all night!

Minutes Later, the Ambers had another glorious chance to double their lead after a mistake from Trinity Keeper Dylan Wharton who passed the ball straight to skipper Matty Thornhill but he could only curl his effort inches wide of the upright from 25 yards!

Trinity looked to get back into the game with Declan Howe and Fraser Preston but saw shots saved by Saul Deeney. The Holly Blues had over 25 corners throughout the 90 minutes but all of those were met by the head of a player in Amber and Black!

Uveges's night then got even better after Tyrell Waite once again provided the assist for Joe who cooly slotted the ball through keeper Wharton's legs to double our lead in the 38th minute!

Tyler Dacres added a spectacular third for the Ambers on the stroke of half time after a ricochet fell kindly to the full back who then slammed the ball into the roof of the net to give United a 3-0 lead at the break.

The Holly Blues made 3 changes at half time but unfortunately to them they still could not break down a resilient Basford defence.

Saul Deeney tipped Declan Howe's shot onto the bar from 5 yards to keep our clean sheet in tact on 64 minutes. Gainsborough continued to probe at the Ambers goal but It was to no avail as the defence like all night felt with anything and everything that Trinity could though at them!

A brilliant Basford performance under the Lincolnshire lights sees the Ambers more up to 8th ahead of Saturdays big game against Robbie Savage's Macclesfield FC.
