Marquee duo the latest to put pen-to-paper…

WE'RE ABSOLUTELY THRILLED TO ANNOUNCE THE SIGNINGS OF BOTH KIERAN FENTON AND JORDAN HALLAM, MOST RECENTLY OF ILKESTON TOWN.

A cult hero at the club, left-sided defender Fenton initially arrived at Greenwich Avenue back in 2017 and was instrumental in a season that saw United gain promotion to the Northern Premier League, Premier Division as champions, with a record 100 points and over 100 goals scored.

Additionally, in a memorable season, Fenton was key in securing our first Nottinghamshire Senior Cup after a 28-year wait. A firm fan favourite and renowned set piece specialist, we are delighted to get this over the line.

Hallam, a graduate of Sheffield Untied, where he spent three years and made a senior debut had loan spells at Southport, Viking (Norway) and Chesterfield, where he scored in a 1-1 draw with Eastleigh on debut.

An offensive midfielder, he later joined Scunthorpe, featuring 29 times in four years, before joining neighbours Ilkeston this season, for whom he scored three times, including a brace against Walsall Wood earlier this month.

Identified early on by manager James Jepson, Hallam is another the club is delighted to get approved and was only possible by the co-operation of Ilkeston Town and owner Andy Nally, whom we thank.

Both players will be available for selection on Tuesday night’s fixture at home to Lancaster City (7:45pm).

The club and its hierarchy do not accept the position it finds itself in and we expect further signings in the coming days.

Discussing the moves, interviews with both Jepson and Hallam can be viewed below:

Elsewhere, Zayn Hakeem has joined Northern Premier League (Midlands) table-toppers Spalding United on a season long loan deal. He goes with the club’s blessings, and we all wish him well in Lincolnshire.
