Duo available for Saturday's visit of Ashton...

United have captured the signature of midfielder Harvey Grice on loan and can also announce the permanent re-signing of forward Courey Grantham.

Grantham arrives back from Loughborough Dynamo, whom he joined in July and has since been dual registered at Newark FC, where he featured in a 2-0 win against Notts County Academy in the Nottinghamshire Senior Cup on Wednesday night.

The 27-year-old need no introduction to the United faithful. A fan favourite since first arriving in 2015, he spent four years at Greenwich Avenue, going onto score 27 goals in 136 appearances before joining Hednesford Town.

He also played in three Senior Cup winning sides during that time and won both the Midland League in his first season and Evo-Stik Division One (North) three years later.

This season for Dynamo, Grantham has played 25 times in all competitions, scoring nine times.

Grice, 20, makes the temporary switch from National League North side Alfreton Town where he put pen-to-paper after leaving Nottingham Forest’s academy in 2017.

Highly considered at the Impact Arena, Town’s academy graduate can operate in a forward position, attacking midfielder or an out-and-out striker.

During his time with the Reds, Grice has played six times, making his senior debut at York City, and scored in a 1-1 draw against Blyth Spartans in an FA Trophy fixture.

He went on to join Grantham Town on a month’s loan back in September and featured 13 times for the Gingerbreads this season, scoring twice, including one against Saturday’s opponents Ashton United.

Manager Mark Clifford said: “It’s the right time to bring in a few fresh faces.

“We know what we can expect from Courey and I’m sure he will hit the ground running. Harvey has been on our radar for some time, and we’re really pleased that Alfreton have allowed him to come to us.

“Both players give us a variety of options to change our formation in search of goals.”

Grantham and Grice will be readily available for Saturday’s home fixture with Ashton.
