Tyler Dacres and Lynden Joyce fired Basford 2-0 at half time but 2 goals in 2 minutes from Suttons Reece Gibson brought the visitors level out of nowhere.

Callum Cocks then put the Ambers back in front before Jayden Campbell equalised for the visitors moments after. The Rogals then went ahead through Luca Taylor.

That goal looked to have sealed the win for the visitors but Jack Goodman fired home a spectacular volley on the turn to bring the Ambers level and with that the opening day ended in a draw.
