Basford United and Belper Town played out a fiercely contested draw, with both sides left frustrated by fine margins and inspired goalkeeping.

The opening exchanges were even, though Basford striker Jack Goodman carried the greater threat. He saw his first effort tipped onto the post by Preston before firing narrowly wide soon after.

Just before the break, Belper were denied when Matt Yates produced a superb acrobatic stop to keep the scores level.

The second half followed a similar pattern, Goodman rattling the crossbar just before the hour mark as Basford pushed on.

Belper hit back, Burrows striking the post late on.

In stoppage time, Yates pulled off a stunning save to preserve parity in an entertaining stalemate.
