After 104 days, league football returns to Greenwich Avenue as we welcome Sutton Coldfield Town in the Pitching In Northern Premier League, Midlands Division.

Founded in 1879, The Royals finished mid table in the NPL Midlands last season and will be a tough test for Willis Francis's Ambers.

After a positive pre season for the Ambers consisting of wins against Radford FC, Newark & Sherwood United, Matlock Town and Notts County B we will be looking to hit the ground running as we start our step 4 league campaign on home soil.

Off the pitch, improvements continue, with a new premium pie now available from our food stations on matchdays. We’re also continuing to take on board supporter suggestions as we look to further enhance the matchday experience at Greenwich Avenue.

With Notts County kicking off early and Nottingham Forest later in the evening it would be great to see as many fans down at the Avenue to get behind the Ambers with entry for NCFC, NFFC & MTFC season card holders only £7.50!

After speaking to the media team in the week, Manager Willis Francis penned the following;

"I firstly want to thank the fans and everybody associated with Basford United for sticking with us through a tough time, and hopefully, we can make that up to you."

"We have had an exciting Pre Season scoring a lot of goals and getting a lot of minutes in the players for them to be ready for the season. We have a lot of new faces, and we need to ensure that they gel quickly. We have energy and pace with added experience and that is the type of squad we wanted to build.
