Matlock Town vs Basford United, 29/09/2020, Kick-off 7:45pm

We travel to Matlock Town tomorrow night in our third league game of the season. Here is what we need to know about the trip to Derbyshire.

Last time out

We recorded our first win of the season with a spirited 2-1 win over Lancaster City. We lead through Stef Galinski before Andy Teague pulled a goal back for the hosts to level the break. Alex Howes then put us back in front and we held onto that advantage until the final whistle, despite some strong pressure from Lancaster.

Matlock ran out 2-0 winners at home to Stafford Rangers. The first half was a goalless affair with the majority of the action coming in the second half. Liam Hughes and Danny Greenfield scored the goals to give Matlock the win, despite them being down to 10-men from the 74th minute onwards as Kade Coppin was dismissed.

Last season

We met Matlock four times last season, twice in the league as well as games in the FA Cup and League Cup. In the league the sides shared 1-0 wins, both winning away from home. In the cup meetings Matlock got the better of us with a 2-1 win in the FA Cup before winning 5-0.

Important information

Tickets for the game can be purchased on the gate and will be cash only. Up on entering the ground please scan the QR code using the NHS track and trace app. You can download it on both the Apple store and Google play store. For those who do not have the app you will have to provide your details for track and trace purposes.

The club shop and tea bar will be open. Matlock also have their Shorts Bar open, however there are several things to remember. This bar will shut at 10pm in line with government guidelines, drinks purchased in this bar must be consumed inside and table service is available.
