Basford travel to Matlock Town on Tuesday night for their first away trip of the new Northern Premier League season (19:45) and is here everything you need to know about the fixture
LAST TIME OUT:
Steve Chettle and his side drew 0-0 on Saturday afternoon in a highly anticipated opening game against Scarborough Athletic at Greenwich Avenue.
A cagey but feisty stalemate, Rev James may have won it for the home side with a header late on, though Kieran Glynn could have ensured all three points went back to Yorkshire, but his effort was well saved by Adam Collin down low as both sides shared the spoils.
Town, playing at their Proctor Cars Stadium for the first time, host having lost 2-0 away at Ashton United at the weekend.
Tom Bentham’s eleventh minute opening set the Robins well on their way before Jamie Renshaw’s penalty on the half hour sealed the win at Hurst Cross.
PREVIOUS ENCOUNTERS:
The sides last met back in September during a season which was ultimately declared null-and-void a month later.
Kane Richards had put United in front before Town equalised through Reece Kendle in front of a sizeable crowd of 444 in Derbyshire.
Matt Thornhill then swept home a fine cross from former Town midfielder James Tague before the towering Liam Hughes – troublesome all evening – headed home the equaliser just after the hour.
Prior to that, Town ran riot at Greenwich Avenue in the Integro League Cup, comfortably progressing with a 5-0 victory which included two fine strikes from the late and much-loved Jordan Sinnott.
LAST FIVE:
29/09/20: MTL 2-2 BAS
14/01/20: BAS 0-5 MTL (League Cup)
04/01/20: MTL 0-1 BAS
07/09/19: MTL 2-1 BAS (FA Cup)

INJURY NEWS:
United remain without Callum Chettle and Ollie Clark who are still injured.
Skipper Matt Thornhill hobbled off in Saturday’s draw with Scarborough and will miss the tie, though his absence is likely only short-term and he should be back in time for their trip to Atherton Collieries on Saturday.
Striker Kane Richards begins the second of his three-match ban, after he was sent off in the FA Trophy tie at Peterborough Sports back in December.
