Basford United Ladies travel to Oughtibridge War Memorial sports club to face an opponent they will see twice in the next three games. Oughtibridge currently sit one place below the Amberettes in eighth place with one less point. This makes this upcoming game crucial for both teams involved.
Basford will look to end their losing streak having unfortunately gone seven games without a win in all competitions. Their last game being a tight 1-0 defeat to rivals Notts County.
The Amberettes will be hoping for another outstanding display by player of the match and Captain Keeley Sanderson who was exceptional and showed great leadership throughout having moved from her primary position at right back to centre back.
Oughtibridge come into the game with six remaining fixtures in the season. Having not played in the league since March 5 where they beat Arnold Eagles 3-2. Their most recent game being a 4-3 reverse to the same Arnold side a week later.
For Basford, Jessica Shaw will be looking to add to her goal tally in her first season for the Amberettes after having moved from the Nottingham Forest Women Development side at the start of the season. She has six goals in 13 appearances and is constantly impressing the fans in every game with her technical ability.
For Oughtibridge, Millie Kenyon is having a great season and will be a player the Ambers will have to watch out for throughout - she has eight goals in just 12 appearances. This is after scoring 29 in all competitions last year and was the second highest scorer in the East Midlands Womens Regional Football League.
The game will take place at the Oughtibridge War Memorial Sports Club on Sunday, March 19 will kick-off at 2pm. Entry to the game is completely free.
