Following the appointment of new chairman Rudy Funk, the club is also delighted to announce the arrival of James Jepson as new first team manager.

Most recently assistant at Ilkeston Town, the 42-year-old has past managerial experience with Eastwood CFC and Rugby Town and was also number two at Retford United.

As a player, he came through the ranks at Notts County before firming himself as a fans’ favourite with the likes of Gresley Rovers and Kettering Town, as well as featuring for a host of other clubs, including Kings Lynn Town, AFC Rushden & Diamonds, Worksop Town, Slough Town, and Sorrento FC (Australia).

A local face and Nottingham-raised, Jepson is viewed as the perfect fit to take the first team forward, as we look to lift ourselves off the foot of the Northern Premier League (Premier) table.

His father, Paul Jepson, managed United back in the 90s and, as a player, won the 87-88 Nottinghamshire Senior Cup with the club.

Coming in as Jepson’s assistant and as part of the new structure is former professional Danny Holmes.

Starting his career at Port Vale, the midfielder went on to play for Burton Albion, Ilkeston Town, and Altrincham and is a UEFA A Licence coach.

Holmes went onto feature for Gresley Rovers, Leek Town and Mickleover over a 12-year career, and starting life as a coach at Derby County U16s.

Both Jepson and Holmes will oversee training this week, before taking charge for the first time away at Hyde United on Saturday.

An interview with the new boss will follow in the next few days.
