Chris Munroe23 Jan 2012 - 12:15

Basford under a pressing timeline commence ground works this week to meet the criteria for Step 6

Delighted to report that a dedicated covered spectator entrance has been designed and will be installed over this coming week. Additionally the club has done some building work to create a seperate bespoke ladies toilet which also is now operational.Next tasks to complete include extending existing dugouts to accomodate 8 sitting players to each. The club is proposing installing 50 meteres of fencing to allow for a segregated player entrance to the main pitch as well as the creation of a bespoke hospitality area for visiting club officials for refreshments. All work is expected to be completed before the Mar 31st Step 6 grading deadline.
The club has now spent with the coming season
£52k of floodlights of which £10k was funded
£10k pitch improvements
£10k on ground developments/improvements including hard standing on all 4 sides.
A spend of £72k of which £62k has come from contributions and sponsership should be viewed as a clear statement of intent to make Basford United one of the leading clubs in the county over a 5 year period.
