Results and match summaries from all of this week's Basford United fixtures, courtesy of club chairman Chris Munroe.

It’s been a great week for the club with all teams bar the first team, winning their games this week.

Results w/e 20th September

Evo- Stik NPL South Division – Basford Utd 0- 1 Coalville Town.

Midland Football league U21 North – Sutton Coldfield Town 1 -2 Basford U21s.

Football Youth Alliance Midland Division – Basford Utd 2 – 0 Solihull Moors.

Notts Youth League U18 Division 1 – Gonerby Youth 1 – 7 Basford U17s.

Notts Youth League U15s Division 3 – Ruddington 1 -5 Basford Utd U15s.

YEL Sunday Under 14s Division 1 – Bagthorpe 1- 5 Basford Utd U14s.

It all started on Wednesday as last season's champions Basford Football Academy kicked-off the 2015-16 Football Youth Conference Midland Division with a 2-0 victory against Solihull Moors. Youngster Kirmarni Smith, who was promoted to the first team this weekend, bagged both goals.

Then onto Saturday's games and the Under-15s kicked-off the day with a 5-1 victory away at Ruddington, in Division 3 of the NYL. A fine strike from Matthew Sladen started the scoring and second half goals from Mitchell Cox, Josh Brown, James Scott-Parkin and Tyrel Ifill sealed the win to maintain a 100% record.

Next in action, Mark Clifford and Adam Beazley's Under-21s traveled to the West Midlands to face Sutton Coldfield on their 3G surface. A flying start from United saw the impressive 16 year-old Harry Wakefield notch the opener on 14 minutes. Pegged back to 1-1 with the last kick of the first period, it would be on almost the last kick of the game that Basford sealed the victory, as Wakefield doubled his tally and sent United back home with a fine victory. Special congratulations to the management and these young lads on achieving their first victory of the campaign, fielding mostly Under-18s lads competing against older players, which should prove a very good learning curve in the development of these lads.

United Under-18s also registered their first victory of the campaign for Ricky & Mark's talented group. Having suffered tough one-goal defeats in their opening two Under-18 NYL Division 1 games, then it didn’t look good as United fell behind in the 5th minute away to Gonerby Youth from Grantham. However, this week it all came right as United stormed into a 4-1 half-time advantage and added a further 3 goals the in second period to power home 7-1. Andre Skeet netted a fine hat trick and he was joined by efforts from Tommy MacCauley, Kelvin Uhumwangho, Dylan Jones and a debut goal for new signing Tyrique Richards.

Finally onto Sunday and another excellent win as Rich McGovern’s Under-14s continued an impressive start in the YEL Under-14s Division 1 with a fine 5-1 away victory at Bagthorpe. Jak Velinsky netted a fine hat trick and a brace from Issac Wetherall completed a very good victory to maintain a 100% record.

Congratulations to all our teams on a fine week.
