After Tuesday night’s 5-0 win over Rushall Olympic we have received the second and third round draws of the FA Trophy.

In the second round we will host Step 4 Pitching In Isthmian League side Felixstowe & Walton United. The Seasiders have only played five times in the league this season and have up to three games in hand on the sides directly above them.

The second-round tie will now take place on Saturday 12 December in a 3.00pm kick off. The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday 15 December, however in the spirit of the game we felt unfair for our opponents to make a long trip midweek and have therefore taken the decision to move the game.

Like Tuesday unfortunately the game remains behind closed doors but we will be doing full radio commentary and extended highlights.

In this year’s FA Trophy Felixstowe have defeated Step 3 Leatherhead in a tight contest that ended 1-0 after knocking out another Step 3 side Metropolitan Police in the 3rd qualifying round. They also defeated Westfield and Great Wakering Rovers in the previous rounds.

In the third-round draw the winners of our tie will face either Hitchin Town or Peterborough Sports, both sides play at step three in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central Division.

Commenting on the draw, manager Steve Chettle said: "We waited with bated breath at 1:00 yesterday in anticipation for the 2nd round draw of the FA Trophy after Tuesday night's 5-0 victory over Rushall Olympic. It was great for us to be drawn at home and now we face Felixstowe and Walton United from the Isthmian League in Round 2.

“Tuesday's result was very rewarding after our second lockdown and the lads looked sharp and put on a really good performance with the team scoring five goals for the first time since I have been here and with five different scorers also.

“We will do our research on Felixstowe in the build-up to the game and be ready for it. The FA Trophy is the only guaranteed fixture that we have at present and all of our energy will be put into the preparation and game to hopefully be able to progress in the competition."
