After our excellent 2-1 win away at Stourbridge on Saturday, Anthony Dwyer was sent off after the final whistle. Following the incident, Basford United can now confirm that the striker has regrettably received a six-match ban from the Football Association.
Anthony wholeheartedly regrets his actions and the club have apologised on his behalf and re-iterate that such behaviour is not representative of Basford United Football Club.
The club now consider the matter closed and remain very supportive of Anthony. We look forward to welcoming him back in March.
He has been warned of his future conduct and also received an internal fine.
We look forward to welcoming Bromsgrove Sporting to Greenwich Avenue on Saturday, February 11 (3pm).
