The 10 men of Basford held off a second half barrage from Anstey to secure our third win a row!
It was the visitors started the brighter side with quick passing around the Basford box but couldn't quite find that final pass to break the deadlock. Tendai Chitza and Jacob Fenton causing problems outside for the Ambers but a mixture of Henri Wilder, Ethan Stewart and Matt Yates held off the Nomads early opportunities.
The deadlock was broken in the 37th minute when a quick break from an Anstey free kick saw Jordan Hallam find space 30 yards out before he unleashed a spectacular effort curling past a stranded Conrad Logan and into the bottom corner!
The Ambers quickly doubled their lead in the 40th minute after brilliant one touch passing between Hallam, Dimaio and Cocks with the former finding Kieran Cummings who barged his way through Jordan Annable's attempted tackle before firing into the top corner!
Jack Goodman almost got a third goal for the Ambers but his powerful effort cannoned off the post and was cleared by Anstey.
A game changing moment happened just before half time when Anstey got a free kick after a late challenge and after a conversation before the referee and linesman Maher was given his marching orders. A decision that looked very harsh! Assistant Manager Mark Clarke was also sent off after questioning the decision by the officials.
As expected Anstey started the second half the stronger and tried to break through a Basford defence that was a man down! Anstey did everything they could to get another Basford player sent off going down for every touch and shouting after every tackle or duel!
The Nomads best chance of the second half fell to Lewis Gibbons after a corner fell nicely to the defender but he could only fire well wide from 18 yards!
A resolute Basford defence who spent over half the game defending from their own 18 yard box was eventually breached after a free kick in the fifth minute of stoppage time fell to Burniston who fired past Yates.
That goal was only a consolation for the Nomads as the Ambers who gave everything in the second half hung on for all three points!
