Martin Carruthers said: “We’re very much looking forward to this game and testing ourselves against a team of Matlock’s quality from the NPL Premier.”
Saul Deeney will miss the game following the injury he received in the win at Leek so Jake Wood will play in goal. Carruthers said: “Jake is a very capable keeper but is unfortunate in that he has someone of Saul’s quality in front of him. Saul is likely to be out for two or three weeks so it is a great opportunity for Jake to show what he can do.”
This will be the first meeting between the clubs since an FA Cup First Qualifying Round tie at Greenwich Avenue in September 2013 which saw Matlock run out winners by two goals to nil.
The winners of this game will be at home to Chasetown next week in the third round.
Just to remind everyone there is no extra time on Tuesday, the match will go straight to penalties if the scores are level at ninety minutes.
