At this time of year expect them all tough, but without question
Basford are in a period of playing the better teams in the MFL, and most of the title challengers or top 6. Tomorrow it is as stated Walsall Wood who still hold the best defensive record in the league. Ironically the teams met 10 days ago at Walsall and Basford held on to somehow win this game finishing with 9 men. Wood though are a fine outfit and have a few dangerous players needing close attention.
United manager Martin Carruthers expects a full squad to select from which will likely be bolstered by the return of Lavelle White who returns to the squad after holiday.
Basford won 3-1 at Walsall ten days ago but boss Martin Carruthers is under no illusions about the task facing them:
"The display that Walsall Wood put in during the first twenty five minutes of that game was the best we have faced this season and we could easily have lost the game. It will be another stiff test for us.
"I was delighted with the way the team played in the midweek win at Long Eaton and we will need to maintain that standard to get a result on Saturday."
Squad: Deeney, Thornton, Fletcher, McNicholas, Meikle, Darkin, Craven, Doolan, S Hendrie, L Hendrie, Wiggins-Thomas, White, Fairclough, Whitehurst, Grantham, Russell, Shannon.
