Trio arrive on short-term deals...

United have been busy before Thursday’s transfer window deadline and are delighted to announce the signings of three players.

Charlie Marzano has put pen-to-paper, whilst two youngsters have arrived at Greenwich Avenue from Barnsley as Harrison Nejman and Jordan Helliwell make loan switches from Oakwell.

Midfielder Marzano arrives from Quorn having previously played for the likes of Ilkeston Town and Eastwood Community, whilst also being part of the University of Nottingham and Derby Futsal Club.

20-year-old Helliwell joins after signing his first professional deal in July 2018.

Since signing for Barnsley back in 2012 aged ten, he was named Academy player of the year for the 2017-18 season and made his senior debut against Bradford City in the EFL Trophy back in November 2018.

The defender then went on to join Northern Premier League rivals Stalybridge Celtic for three months before moving to the Tyke’s sister club, Esbjerg fB in Denmark, for six months.

Nejman, who will turn 20 in September, has been with the South Yorkshire club since 2018 and signed as a first-year scholar in July 2020 after impressing at the younger age groups.

Described as a technical midfielder, he captained Barnsley’s U18 side to a 2-0 victory away at Wigan Athletic as recently as last week, shortly after breaking into their U23 set up.

The club did have plans of bringing in a further two on a permanent basis, but the agreed deals were revoked at the 11th hour by the parent clubs.

Elsewhere, however, Lirak Hasani’s loan deal from Doncaster Rovers has been extended to the end of the current campaign.

We are equally as thrilled to confirm that Tyreace Palmer – currently on loan from Notts County – and Lewis Carr are now fit for selection after recent injury concerns.

The aforementioned will be available for Saturday’s visit of Bamber Bridge in the Northern Premier League (3pm).
