Chambers has been a prolific striker all his career and has also played for the likes of York City, Kidderminster Harriers and Brackley Town. Ash won promotion to the National League North after winning the NPL with Buxton in 2022.

Ash is viewed as the experienced striker to be a key influence over our exciting young balanced group of strikers. Most recently with Coalville in the Southern League Central Premier Division for the last two seasons, Ash has continued to have an enviable goal scoring record and joins a very good group being assembled. Ash signs a potentially 2 year deal and we are absolutely delighted to get this one over the line.

Manager Martin Carruthers is obviously made up with this signing and for Basford United and views the signing of Ash as very reminiscent to his signing of then 32 & 34 year old experienced strikers Liam Hearn & Rob Duffy back in 2017. Fans need no reminder that one projected us too the NPL Step 4 South title and for Liam a 47 goal campaign & Rob also chipped in with crucial goals in that 100 points 100 goals title winning 2017-18 campaign.

The gaffer said the following after securing Ash' signature:
