Charlie Bailey scored the only goal of the game in the 25th minute as United fall to a 1-0 defeat up in Lancaster.
It was a quiet start to the game with neither keeper being tested in the opening ten minutes. It was United though who had the first chance, Kane Richards played a lovely low cross across the 6-yard box which was met by Rev James but pressure from the Lancaster defence and a slippery surface at The Giant Axe meant James couldn’t get his shot away.
It was Lancaster though who took the lead halfway through the first half as a cross from the left-hand side went over everyone in the United box except Charlie Bailey who fired home past Kieran Preston.
As we approached half time united had two glorious opportunities to get back level when both Kane Richards and Toby Ritzema had shots saved brilliantly by goalkeeper Tom Stewart!
The second half started as the first ended as James sent in a delightful cross into the box, but Campbell couldn’t convert past goalkeeper Stewart.
A half filled with chances for United as both Kieran Fenton and Mason Frizelle had chances, but neither could convert past Stewart who had a magnificent game for the hosts.
United continued to throw bodies forward in the second half but it was to no avail as we fall to defeat in the northwest.
